Tabor Girl Linda Taylor Becomes Sidney Rodeo Queen
Linda Taylor 18 of Tabor will reign as queen of Sidney Town Championship Rodeo. The 40th anniversary event runs August 13 through 18 with over 50 000 spectators expected. A Tabor High School graduate, she plans to study English and Speech at the University of Nebraska and has excelled in 4 H activities including cooking and sewing ribbons.

A bridal shower for Miss Carol Petersen of Anita was held Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Galen Newman in Atlantic. Twenty four guests from Woodbine Carson Adair Council Bluffs Anita and Atlantic attended. Prizes were won in traveling bingo. Hostesses assisted in opening gifts and refreshments were served. Karen and Kathleen Hansen visited Cedar Falls with their aunt Mrs. Dorothy Uhlig to see her son Calvin, a junior at the school.

Good crowd at horse show in Anita old ballpark
A large audience attended the first Anita Saddle Club horse show held Sunday evening June 2 at the old Anita ballpark. Sixty six horses and riders competed in twelve events with top placings for riders from Massena, Anita, Cumberland, Bridgewater, Earlham and other towns. Background music by Delores Weaver and announcements by Lynn Dorsey with Paul Barber as ringmaster.

Visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs Mike Baetz have been their daughter Mrs Alice Kimball and son Wayne of Las Vegas Nev. Sunday guests were Mr and Mrs Lavon Baetz Council Bluffs Mr and Mrs Bob Cryer and Mrs Hattie Cryer of Treynor and Mrs Marian Farnham of Omaha. Mrs Farnham also had visited at the Baetz home but returned home.
