Auto crash near Carroll leaves two dead
A late Sunday collision six miles north of Carroll killed Myrta Robinson 40 and another man identified as Albert Vonnahme. Mrs Robinson and her husband were en route to Anita when their car left the highway and plunged into a ditch. Robinson died after being removed to a hospital. Mrs Robinson was severely injured. Band Concert Series Planned by Greater Anita Club
The Greater Anita Club announced Tuesday night band concerts this summer to be held in Concert Park by Anita youths. Initiated by Earl R. Blue last July, the juvenile band program has been sponsored since September by the Greater Anita Club and the public schools and will continue in summer under the club's support.

Tribune Receives Letter From Former Anita Lady
Mrs. Mary Whitmore Stone of Springfield Missouri sends a year’s subscription to the Tribune. Her husband Luman Stone, aged 92, is able to walk with assistance after a hip injury healing. He reads, stays cheerful, and rides the house in a wheelchair. Mrs Stone and her husband are former Anita residents and she once taught in Anita public schools.

Corner Stone For M. E. Church to Be Laid Sunday
The corner stone ceremony for Anita’s new Methodist Episcopal church will be Sunday at 3:00 pm. Frank Choate gifts the stone with Earl Blue directing the junior band to perform. Dr. David Shenton leads the ritual, gives an address, and places the stone with contractor John Gebuhr supervising the service.

Wiota will present a free summer program of silent feature and comedy films. The shows will run every Thursday in June July and August and are organized by Azel Ames of Anita. May Capture Wild Birds and Faies to Use as Pets
Residents of Casa County may capture up to two game birds or fur bearing animals as pets without a license, provided they obtain a written permit from the Iowa Fish and Game Commission. Decoration Day Draws Many Former Residents to Anita
Weather reached about 70 degrees as former residents gathered in Anita for Decoration Day. A large crowd visited Evergreen cemetery to honor deceased relatives, while a Concert Park program and a Memorial service by the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary drew sizable attendance. Fr. M J OConor’s illness moved the address to Pr Romald of Des Moines, who delivered a strong patriotic talk.

A stranger in Anita posing as a Massena farmer passed two worthless checks on Anita merchants. He bought small items, overpaying and taking change, then left with promises to return for the goods. A second con man targeted a city service station with an auto polish ad deal. Mrs. A M Mikkelsen and children visited Corning relatives. Neighbors helped Mrs. W H Egan by planting forty acres of corn last week.
