Circus Comes to Anita in 1894

Eleven Years Ago in Anita and State Fair Notes

Ten years ago August 1 Wayne Jewett owned and operated the Kunz Grain elevator now gone after an 1918 fire. Old Oscar’s weighing-in ceremony will mark a new fish hatchery contest at Back Bone Park. The 1964 State Fair runs August 28 to September 6. Bullhead fishing at Lost Island Lake drew officials’ attention as two anglers exceeded their 25 bullhead limit by 290 and were fined $140 each in Spencer court.
