The Board of Directors of Anila Community Schools will meet July 28 1958 at 8 PM at the high school. Taxpayers may speak for or against the expenditure estimates for the year starting July 1 1958 and ending June 30 1959. A detailed receipts and disbursements statement will be available at the hearing.
The Board of Supervisors met on adjournment with members Schwartz Gittins Koehrsen Osler and Smith. Bids opened for a pickup truck awarded to Larsen Implement & Track Co for 1637.00. Officers approved cigarette licenses for Arnott Thien and Gashorn Sinclair Service. Meeting adjourned to July 1 with motion carried.
A reader to Mr and Mrs Ash encloses a $3.50 check for a years subscription to the Anita Tribune. The writer explains the delay due to a change of address from Arizona to San Francisco and expresses appreciation for the paper and sympathy for flood victims noted in the July 3 edition.
On 12 July 1883 WY. D. Rood has a stone wall pot under his corner building with J. S. Johnson, famed stone mason, handling the project. Samuel Cate, known as Old Reliable, acts as auctioneer. A. M. Currier runs the Red Front Harness Shop. J. C. Williams operates the Anita Plow and Carriage Works. George Bills, a plasterer and father, Sherman F. Myers edits and publishes Anita Tunes.

Charles F. Chase, co founder of the Anita Times, turns the Atlantic Times over to son E P Chase born in Anita. Percy Chase recently wed in Mt Vernon Iowa at the bride’s father Rev Rufus D Parsons home. Other notes mention upcoming marriages and staff changes at local papers.
Four years ago Mrs F OG Worthing and her sister Mrs Joe Beaver visited sister Mrs Earl Gay ford in Defiance Town. Charles Sehol traded his Hapmobile for a Tard. Mr and Mrs C E Boulkner and Mr and Mrs E 5 Holton returned from a lakes outing in northern Town. Dr R A Becker and Dr G M Adair show offices in local buildings. H E Campbell operates over Wagnee's. Walter F Tink Budd is editor of the Anita Tribune.
Thirty years ago on July 18 1928 Mr and Mrs M M Burkhart were highlighted in the local social notes marking a long marriage with residents recalling their years together and community ties.
In Texas visits, Mr and Mrs Walter F Budd and son Frank stayed with Mr and Mrs MH Bell at Lake Oke. Ames experts calculated Iowa corn production at sixty cents per bushel, noting farm cost insights. Walter P F Budd, editor, adds family context to the item.

Former owner Phil Trachtenberg died in June 1953. Georgia Byrne resigns as Cass County superintendent after 23 years. An anonymous memory feature and local notices appear alongside grocery pricing at 79 cents per pound.
A retrospective notes Herschel McCuskey began as superintendent of Municipal Utilities succeeding Carl Johnson. It recalls a front page photo of Third Street paving and mentions Sherman Lowell, grandson of the Tribune founder Sherm Myers, in a “Long, Long Ago” feature.
