Des Moines July 11 The master builders and unions arbitration committee failed to reach an agreement at Saturday conference prompting a one day general strike by about one thousand union workers. No union carpenters cement workers or other crafts will work for the sixteen builders during the standstill tying up work on city hall securities building Ewing flats Majestic theater Equitable building and other projects. A secret meeting produced a brief truce and a return to work tomorrow pending arbitration.

Elks Leave for Detroit Des Moines Stop
Des Moines on July 11 saw Colorado Elks en route to Detroit invade the city at 8:30 PM. A camelot of bells and a cowboy band accompanied the procession while Missouri Elks made a brief depot stop.
