Mrs Danner reportedly confessed, alleging Sprouse was killed for robbery, their bodies dumped along the Gallalen river near Bozeman. Trial set soon in Bozeman. Danner and his wife involved. Night Air Mail Field Near Canby Established
A 25 acre landing field for night air mail services is set up on the W. J. Duthie farm, three miles north and one mile east of Canby. Completion targeted by July 11. A 53 foot steel tower with electric beacon will mark the field, used only in emergencies. Additional fields planned every 25 miles for guidance on Chicago to Cheyenne night route. Local pilots visited Walnut township field to study takeoff and landing conditions.

Atlantic Southern Railroad Ends Rights Sale Near Grant and Villa
The final chapter in Atlantic Southern railway history unfolds as Abeles Co of St. Louis sells the last right-of-way near Grant and Villa, ending the company’s claim here. The 37 mile line extended Atlantic Northern to Kimballton, built by public subscription, later abandoned after financial troubles. The north segment, 17 miles Atlantic to Kimballton, has required a local tax subsidy to remain in operation.

Pioneer Benjamin Wagner of Anita Dies at 83
Benjamin Wagner, Civil War veteran and longtime Cars county pioneer, died Friday afternoon at his Anita home after a lingering illness. Born June 21, 1840, in Harrisburg PA, he moved to Iowa as a child, served four years in the Civil War, and married Julia Amt Van veryort in 1805. He and his family located in Cars county in 1873 before settling in Anita, where he lived until his death. He is survived by his wife and eleven children, with funeral services held at the M B church and burial at Evergreen cemetery.

Des Moines Iowa July 8 The Automobile is responsible for more accidental deaths in Iowa than any other cause in 1922 per a survey in the Iowa Health Bulletin. The death rate from automobile accidents was 7.7 per 100000 with 187 deaths that year, up from 171 in 1921.
