County Republicans Convene in Atlantic on Saturday
The Cass County Republican convention met in Atlantic last Saturday with W C Bryant of Gris id as chairman and F W Herbert of alic as secretary. Delegates for state and district conventions were elected, and speeches by Hobart Newton and others highlighted the event. Wood was re elected county chairman after adjournment while Democrats met with J F McGovern as county chair.

Walter from Canada at death scene. family had 30 years with no death or serious illness prior to Earl’s passing.

Walnut Child Dies In Churn Accident At Family Farm
On July 2 in Lubert Freese eight miles southeast of the city, two year old son of Charles Freese and wife was killed when he fell head first into an empty churn barrel. He strangled to death before help could reach him while his mother looked for him after cherry picking. Survived by his parents and one brother Ronald.

Miss Anna Collins of Victoria township dies at 70
Massena Iowa July 2 Miss Anna Collins a long time Victoria township resident died Tuesday morning after a yearlong illness. Born in Kentucky about seventy years ago she lived in Victoria township for forty years and kept house for her Collins brothers. Survived by four brothers and three sisters. Funeral at Massena Catholic church Thursday with Catholic cemetery burial.

Royce D Vernon son of Mr and Mrs Ralph D Vernon born January 10 1893 in Anita Iowa died June 27 1924 at home aged 31 years 5 months 17 days from tuberculosis after months of illness He served in World War I and was honorably discharged March 7 1919 He worked for Chester Long Farmers Supply Co and later joined various fraternal orders He is survived by his parents two sisters and two brothers Funeral services were held at the home Monday at 2 pm led by Rev B W McEldowney Interment Evergreen cemetery with American Legion burial rites Pallbearers from American Legion K P and Odd Fellows lodges.
