Anita Chamber of Commerce promotion continues through July with Friday night drawings at Concert Park. Rose Watson, formerly Rose Spry, wins a $100 gift certificate on the second ticket. Gene Klemish won the first but was absent. The event coincides with Fourth of July observances and street work by E C Henningsen Construction on 20 blocks of Anita streets valued at 77 546.75.

Anita Saddle Club hosted a Sunday night horse show drawing a large crowd. Riders from Adair Cumberland Fontanelle Stuart Menlo and Atlantic competed in pony Ladies Western Pleasure barrel race and stock horse events with many winners named. Roger Lathrop returned from Korea and awaits reassignment at Fort Riley.

Hospitalized residents list at Atlantic Memorial Hospital
Mrs. Emma Hockenberry was admitted after a fall at home Saturday afternoon resulting in a badly bruised left arm. She remains in pain. Also hospitalized is Mrs. Marcella Watkins at Atlantic Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services Held for Charles Hettinger
Funeral services were held Saturday at Long's Funeral Home for 86 year old Charles Hettinger. Interment was in Anita Evergreen cemetery. He was born in Sennefield Germany March 30 1878 and died June 25 after a brief hospital stay. He moved to Cass county as a child and later lived on Cherry street in Anita. He married Hazel White on February 4 1913 and is survived by his wife a brother a nephew and a niece among others.

The elementary group and senior prom pictures can be picked up at the school secretary’s office from 8:30 to 12 and 1:30 to 4. Carolyn Millard left Monday for Newark Ohio to become district advisor with Heart of Ohio Girl Scout Council. She earned a BA from Simpson College in Indianola this spring. Mrs Jens Rasmussen Mrs Leslie Carothers and Mrs Carl Millard attend School of Missions on Simpson campus in Indianola this week. Rasmussen is a district officer of the Council Bluffs district.

The Anita Farmers Co op Elevator Co held its annual meeting June 26 at the Anita Methodist church. About 90 attended the supper. Board members Dallas Davis Ben Kirkham and Arnold Enfield were reelected. Manager Ed Riley reported on the audit. Dividends from May 1 1963 to Apr 30 1964 totaled 1875 with 2 9 percent paid to members. Bud Trafford of Farm ers Elevator Service Co gave an entertaining speech.

Six Lane Track: Anita to Build New 6-Lane Running Track

Postponed softball game amid field changes and renovations
Tonight's Hastards versus Chapman Morgan softball game is postponed to a later date due to extensive football field and baseball diamond renovations. Weather halted initial progress. goal posts and a north fence were removed last Saturday. Bleachers will be added on the west side after relocation. an adjacent bank will be leveled for parking.

Verne Parker of Stuart showcases a matched team of burros at the Anita Saddie club horse show Sunday evening. He converts a 1941 Chrysler four door by removing the back seat to seat the burros with heads over the front. Parker avoids interstate travel to prevent bewildering motorists who glimpse the burros in the back window. The burro pair include a son and a mother.
