Anita High School Graduates Plan Local Alumni Association
After a Congregational church meeting with the 1926 Anita graduates, a committee was formed to recruit alumni for a new Anita High School Alumni Association. About forty graduates attended and a $1 membership fee was set to fund minor expenses. The group invites all Anita alumni to join by sending their name and fee to committee members.

Anna Katrina Olson Beel died at 2 00 am Thursday near Anita Iowa aged 75 years 4 months 8 days She was born in Denmark on February 16 1851 came to the United States in 1878 and settled in Illinois marriage to Henry Beel August 4 1878 at M orth Illinois The family moved to near Anita Iowa in 1882 She leaves a husband twelve children twenty two grandchildren and five great grandchildren Funeral services were held at the local M E church conducted by Rev B W McEldowney Interment was in Evergreen cemetery

Special session may save Iowa 42 million on road plan
Des Moines June 30 Iowa could save about 42 million by calling a special legislative session to approve a 100 million bond plan for a comprehensive road system, according to Fred R White chief engineer of the Iowa State Highway Commission. He said savings arise from bonds and interest avoided and from reduced operating costs, with funds to be raised by auto taxes and federal aid without new taxes.
