Sealed bids due February 19, 1957 to the Cass County Auditor in Atlantic Iowa for listed construction items. Bid bond and payment details required with proposals. Plans and forms available from the County Auditor. County reserves right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities.
Ten bidders invited sealed bids due by 10:00 AM February 19 in Cass County Auditor’s office Iowa. A certified check payable to County Auditor is required with each bid as liquidated damages if the bid is accepted but not pursued. Plans and proposals sold by the County. bids must conform to provided forms and terms. County reserves right to reject any or all bids.
Auditors office in Atlantic Iowa will accept bids until 1:00 PM on February 19 1957 for listed construction items. Proposals require a certified check drawn on an Iowa bank payable to County Auditor. February reading includes Sanwel and Matthew. Intermediate MYF Friday, Feb 8. Woman's Society Feb 7 at 2:00 with showing of Immortal Love. Church Fellowship Supper Feb 6 with moving picture. Youth group activities and morning worship at 10. Sermon "Faith and The Christian."
Sunday services will present trust in God and divine Love as daily guidance. The Golden Text from I John 4 16 emphasizes that God is love and those who dwell in love dwell in God.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church led by Pastor W. H. Kohlmeier hosts divine worship with the Lord's Supper at 9 30 and a 10 30 Sunday School and Bible Class. The Ladies Aid meets Friday at 2 pm, the Men's club tomorrow evening, and a children’s instruction class is Saturday at 9 30.

The Congregational Church lists Sunday School at 9 a.m and Sunday Service at 11 a.m. Choir practice continues on Wednesday and Thursday, with Women s Fellowship hosted by Mrs. Tom Burns Mrs. Orin Burns and Mrs. Sadie Wagner.
A two year study of town election laws has been recommended by local Teague of Women Voters. The effort aims to examine how laws affect elections and civic engagement within the community.
Mrs Ed Andersen thanks the editor for the paper and notes the many friends, six years in the area, and her appreciation for the cold weather and snow which she says is more than they have seen since moving here. She mentions missing Anita.

Fifty years ago J. D. Henry ran wagons a general repair shop and sold bne gice. J Acheving traded in grain and coal. P O Worthing and Son bought eggs and poultry. F C Chinn managed Kung Chatu Co. C I Wainwright physician and Alt ryan had an office over Anita Hawk. Shem Myers was editor and Pat Richardson manager of Anita Trabeere.

Obituary notes Charles F. Chase born 1834 at Fort Crawford Wisconsin who shaped Anita and Atlantic journalism. Founding Anita Times 1877 and Cass County Democrat 1880, later returning to News Telegraph 1902. Also mentions Rev Jos Ferner turning eighty and local pricing at Burkhart Grocery. Walter F Budd named editor of Anita Tribune.

Anita High School boys basketball team the Spartana captured the county tournament title for the first time in 27 years. John L. Jensen of Kimballton and Elmer G. Carlson of Audubon ran as Democratic nominees for U S Representative from the seventh district, with Ben F. Jensen as Republican incumbent. Margaret and David Ash edited the Anita Tribune, the local newspaper.
