In a determined engagement, Arabs and Turks attacked a column of Italian troops leaving Tripoli for Ghingarish. After hours of fighting the Italians rallied and the Turks retreated to the desert with hundreds of attackers killed. Italian losses were three killed and seven wounded.

Butter quality advances Iowa income hopes
An Iowa State College butter contest highlighted gains in creamery practices. O C Capper won the whole milk class with 95 percent average, and G J Gudknecht led the gathered cream class.
