All welcome and invite others to attend.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church lists junior and senior confirmation dates and times with Divine worship and Sunday school. Zion's Lutheran Church in Atlantic announces Pastor GC A Krengel installation at 7 pm on Monday Jan 23. St Mary's Catholic Church mentions Sunday Mass at 8 am.
A formal financial statement for 1960 from the Cass County Agricultural Extension Council lists receipts and disbursements for the County Extension Fund. Totals show beginning balance, salaries, travel, rent, utilities, and project expenses, ending with a December 31, 1960 balance of 1468.75 and notarized attestations.
Duane Dodson pastor leads revival events at Community Bible Church from January 1 to 8 with daily meetings at 7 30 p m. Sunday school at 10 00 am and morning service at 11 00 am. Public invited.
The Methodist Church lists W L Hawn as minister with Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship Service at 11:00. Senior M Y F meets alternate Mondays at 7 30, Intermediate M Y F on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 7:00, Junior Missionary Class on the 1st Saturday at 2:00, Official Board on the 1st Thursday at 7:30.
Berea Busy Bees met with Mrs. Donald Jorgensen for a regular meeting on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Richard Neighbors and Mrs. Manley Young received birthday gifts from secret pals. The club moved from the neighborhood this week and hosted a lunch. next meeting is Feb 8 with Mrs. Phil Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paulsen hosted pinochle and social gatherings with local families during the week.
The Anita Home and Garden Club will hold its first meeting of the year on Monday January 23 at St Marys parish hall. Roll call asks members to name their favorite house plant. A book review by Mrs Emma Hofmeister is on the program with arm chair gardening led by moderator Mrs Lester King and panelists Mrs Vernie Jewett Mrs Tom Bailey Mrs Ella Enfield and Mrs Ted Hansen. Hostesses are Mrs Worth Chastain and Mrs John Benham with table arrangements by Mrs Leonard Bailey and Mrs Leroy Kinzie.
4-H girls leaders and mothers are reminded of the record book training at the community building at 0 30 p m Saturday Jan 21. The Grant boys highlight better discipline at meetings since re organizing a year ago and the livestock record book insert may require adjustments. Patty Kerkman and Jackie Wiechman seek revisions to their Sheep Foot Rot demonstration others to follow.
A public training session on freezer use and frozen foods will be led by Shirley Stakey at St. John's E and R Church near Lyman on Tuesday January 24 from 10 am to 3 pm. Topics include buying freezers care and use, meal prep, a noon luncheon, and how to join with group project leaders. Sponsored by the Extension Family Living Committee.
