An Anita notice touts Adler-i ka as a remarkable cleanse for constipation and stomach issues using buck thorn bark and glycerine. The ad claims a single dose relieves symptoms instantly and cites L P Hackley as the endorser.
A fragmented notice warns against ointments with mercury which may harm the sense and cause illness when absorbed through the skin. It references pharmacists and doctors suggesting caution and mentions a product tied to Hall's remedy and a price per bottle.
The Anita Commercial Club met at the Knights of Pythias hall for a semi monthly gathering with a larger than usual turnout. Talks covered a new school building event, park development, street parking layouts, and a proposed rural route. a Saturday January 17 auction sale was planned at the feed barn.
The Commercial Club grants the Anita Band permission to practice in the Club room rent free, provided building owners object none. A meeting on the 28th is planned, likely in Club rooms, with bylaws changes and future work on the agenda.
Notice announces Mrs Mary Brown has moved hotel fixtures to the East Main Street building and invites patrons to continue the same courteous service and meals. Cass Encampment meets first and last Mondays. Juanita Rebecca Lodge meets first and second Tuesdays. Logan Lodge meets first and third Wednesdays. Anita Temple meets first and third Mondays. Ackerman Lodge meets first Friday. Grove Camp meets first Saturday. Hiawathia Camp meets second and fourth Fridays. Homestead Ackerman Lodge and Modern Woodmen meet monthly. Local visitors include Charles Faulkner, Wash Eller, Charles Ragan, Sheriff Bosley, Mrs Parmely.
