Recently deceased Lowise Welch Bosley born 1832 near Cumberland Maryland died 1907. Married 1850 to William H. Bosley they had nine children five alive in 1908. Names listed include William H. Bosley Atlantic Clara J. Corlett Colorado Springs Ben S. Bosley Anita W F Worthing Colorado Springs James Matney Decatur Nebraska.
The burned building dates to 1877 78 built by S C Road as a hardware store with living quarters above. It later became an opera house around 1898 owned by S S King, then by the Johnson brothers and finally F O Worthing. The upper floor served Odd Fellows Masons Good Templars and Red Men. Walter F Budd, editor of the Anita Tribune, notes the fire and minor damage to a motion picture machine.
Ten years ago Mrs B D Forshay marked her 80th birthday and Val Wiegand neared a 93rd birthday. Raymond and wife welcomed baby boy Alan Lynn Dressler. Harold D Butts served as Methodist minister and Paul R Brown published the Anita Tribune.

LeAnn Marie Jessen, born January 2, 1957, is named as Cass County’s first baby of the year. Her grandparents are Mr and Mrs Andrew Jessen and Gerald Shellmaker of Anita, with great grandfather Chris Anderson of Anita. Local ads note flour at 45c for a five pound bag and ground beef at four pounds per dollar. Editors Margaret and David Ash lead the Anita Tribune, with Dave recently elected a director of the Press Columnists of Iowa.
