Navy man dies in icy crash near Council Bluffs
Larry Martin Jessen 19 of Wiota was killed when his father’s car skidded on ice and hit a bridge on U S Highway 6 two miles east of Council Bluffs at 2 am. Killed also were W F Coules 16 a Detroit hitchhiker. Ronald H Shika 22 of Badger Minn. Jessen had left for Las Vegas on a Navy assignment. Surviving family includes his parents sister JoAnn and brothers C T and Clarence. Funeral arrangements pending at Roland funeral home Atlantic Iowa.

Mrs Walter Hagen underwent surgery at Atlantic Memorial hospital Thursday morning. Arthur Robinson of 501 Hickory in Atlantic, formerly of Anita, fractured his hip in a fall near the post office in Atlantic Tuesday afternoon and had surgery Saturday morning at Atlantic Memorial hospital.
