County Officials Shakeup In Atlantic Area
The Atlantic area board approved changes in county officials including a new chairman and deputies. About seventy-five Cass county officers and families attended the first annual gathering at the Atlantic courthouse. County Attorney Earl Holton served as toastmaster as events included toasts, a bountiful dinner, recitations and talks. A.M. Zellmer and Mr. Edwards received gifts as retiring officials. Activities ended with community singing, dancing and cards.

Bill Paige 65 Dies at Creston After Illness
William H Paige 65 a former resident of this vicinity died last Wednesday night at Community hospital in Creston from ruptured ulcers of the stomach. Born July 1 1871 in Audubon county Extra he lived in Eureka township Adair county and Benton township before moving to Creston three years ago. He leaves eight children with seven grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters. Funeral held 2 PM Saturday at Eureka Center with burial in Eureka Center cemetery.

Darrow Family Hurt in Iowa Head On Crash
Six people are hospitalized in Newton Iowa after a late Saturday head on collision on Highway 6 six miles east of the city. W I Darrow 59 of Anita suffered a fractured vertebrae and severe cuts. his wife 54 a fractured left arm and right leg. Harlan A Heibner 31 of Estherville had bruises and a fractured right knee. Beulah Coleman 34 of Estherville and her daughters Carol 7 and Grace 4 were cut and bruised. The Darrrows were returning from Anita to Anamosa with daughter Evelyn who had been visiting. The cause of the crash is unknown. Earl Johnston was called to Dexter Sunday by his father J E Johnston's death.
