Anita bridal tied at courthouse in Savannah
Adsiy Walker daughter of Mrs. Ted Walker Anita and Ray son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Atlantic married Sunday evening December at the Savannah courthouse Justice Hayward officiated with the bride's sister Alyce Walker and a guest from Atlantic present. The bride who has lived in Anita will reside in Atlantic with many friends sending best wishes. Jorge Jones and wife visited relatives in tbridge Iowa last week and Jones manages the Iowa Electric restaurant. Petersen of Ft Madison Iowa appointed southern Town inspector by Mark Thornburg secretary of agriculture. Petersen, son-in-law of land Mrs. J. C. Jenkins, started duties as inspector in southern Town this week. The will of late Mrs. Rossie has probate in Cass county district court naming Rogge executor. Property divided among five children with debts deducted from shares. L. Butler 58 died of heart attack at Larsen hospital after holiday Rock Island trip. Surviving are his wife and son-in-law and daughter Mrs H D Ripley of Des Moines. James Broadfoot sister mentioned.

Acreage Allotments to Be Ready By February
Farmers in about half of Towns counties should receive AAA acreage allotments early in January with totals ready for farmers and landlords by February. O D Klein, chair of the state agricultural conservation committee, said the program will allow better planning to gain maximum benefits. County committees are handling corn loan applications while estimates indicate Iowa corn sealed this winter may reach around 180 million bushels. Some counties proceed with listing sheets and two day township committeeman schools to explain the docket for the 1939 farm program. Also includes New Year visitors at Indianola and Bridgewater waterworks bonds sold for 11,200 at a premium of five dollars and four percent interest. no well contract let due to weather, to be dug by local labor.

The Cass county board of supervisors re elected Hawley Lynch of Atlantic as chairman in a first of year session. Lynch received two votes with three other candidates splitting one vote each, and the motion made the result unanimous.

W. W. Club Holds All Day Meeting and Dinner
Fourteen members met at the home of Mrs. Grover Darling northwest of the city for an all day gathering with a covered dish dinner. The next meeting is set for Jan 12 with Mrs. Roy Derry. In Clarke county district court a jury found the seller not liable in a seed corn case. Ray Hepner sued Clarence Carder claiming the corn did not ripen properly, but the jury ruled for the defendant.
