Iowa district courts collected 292073 in liquor violation fines from Jan 1921 to Oct 1922 across 1802 cases. Blackhawk County led with 22650 due to Waterloo cleanup. Scott County reported none. Bi annual criminal bureau work yielded 241 stolen cars recovered worth 201400 and 30 convicts. State agents secured 854 convictions including 48 murder cases 5 death sentences.

Data from the district court clerk's year 1922 report show 321 filed law and equity cases up from 297 in 1921 and 172 in 1920. Probate and criminal dockets ran near normal. marriage licenses declined to 154 from 1921's 192 and 1920's 145. divorces totaled 21 vs 22 in 1921 and 28 in 1920.
Former Anita Boy Robert Burke Dies in Lansing Michigan
Robert Burke formerly managed the Postal Telegraph office in Anita and was a high school graduate. he died in Lansing at 38 from pneumonia after a brief illness while serving as a tuberculosis specialist for the state health department. Funeral planned in Chicago with services at Buck's rooms. his widow and two children reside in Chicago.
