Grand Larceny Charged In Des Moines

E R Walizer 28 was arrested by Detectives Jackson and Pettit for grand larceny filed by his father in law Dan Rare don. He allegedly stole 1000 dollars in gold from a hiding place in the father in law's cellar. Since the theft he has not worked as a house painter but paid bills and bought clothes.

New Hampton Man Killed in Auto Crash

Edward C. Chambers a noted bridge contractor in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota died when his car slid off a high bank and rolled over. He was 68, survived by his widow and a daughter Mrs. S G Fouse of Lisbon Iowa. His estate is described as very large.

Iowa officers meet for third regimental instruction school

In Cedar Rapids on December 5 seventeen regimental and staff officers plus thirty six company officers gather for a two day school of instruction. A reception and smoker for the visitors will be held tonight with remarks by Representative Ernest Moore and others.

Former Iowan juror Bain confessed bribery in McNamara case

The Des Moines memory notes that Robert F Bain once a notable Atlantic Iowa figure confessed to taking a $400 bribe in the McNamara case. He moved to Los Angeles about twenty five years ago and worked as a carpenter, with some Iowa friends calling him an old soldier.
