Hospitalized Phil McCosh a well known Anita man entered Cass County Memorial Hospital Thursday July 29 undergoing tests x rays and observation. Mrs Louie Petersen an Anita Librarian fell Saturday on her way to the library and cracked the bone in her right ankle and entered the hospital for medical attention and a cast. Mrs Walt Jorgensen entered the hospital Saturday taken by the Emergency Unit. Mrs Grady Taylor is a patient at Cass County Memorial Hospital. Anita Receives EPA Grant Boost for Wastewater Plan
U S Congressman Tom Harkin announced Anita will receive 13 500 from the Environmental Protection Agency to expand a wastewater treatment works facility plan and sewer system evaluation survey. The EPA will cover 75 percent of all planning and construction costs, following a prior 10 120 grant.

The Anita Saddle Club and weather cooperative hosted a free horse show on Saturday evening drawing a good crowd. Winners across 16 events included Becky Nelsen and Lee Bailey in Walk Trot and Cody South in Pole Bending with multiple riders from Anita and nearby towns. First place prizes of $5 and four place plaques were awarded.
