Visitors From Washington Visit Anita Residents
Mr and Mrs Ed Schrader from Spokane Washington are in Anita Iowa this week visiting Mrs B D Forshay and Dr and Mrs G M Adair. The Schraders arrived in Atlantic last Saturday and spent the weekend with sisters Mrs Fred Herbert and Mrs Lulu Gotch. Dinner party hosted by Dr and Mrs G M Adair included Mr and Mrs George Preston Avoca Mr and Mrs Fred Herbert Atlantic and Mrs B D Forshay Anita. Mrs Forshay will host dinner for the Shrader party tonight with additional attendees Mrs Wilma Forshay and Alanna Newton and Mrs Hazel Forshay Des Moines.

Spring Cleaning Completed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church
The Holy Cross Lutheran Church held its annual spring clean up on April 4 with 25 attendees. Women cleaned and waxed the interior while men cleared the exterior and tore down the old parsonage garage in preparation for a new one, followed by a potluck lunch.

Good Attendance At Ladies Missionary Society
About forty ladies attended the regular meeting of the Congregational Church Ladies Missionary Society on April 4. President Mrs Flora Stone presided. delegates Mrs Arthur Petersen and Mrs Raymond Lantz reported on the council Bluffs association. A Bible lesson followed, candles lit, talks given, a quartet provided music, and a nationwide gift project started in 1941 was dedicated totaling 29.50 alongside an exhibit of old Bibles.
