Past Matron Club Organized for Anita Area
Fifteen years back April 12 1934 records note the Past Matrons of Columbia Chapter No 127 Order of Eastern Star forming a Past Matron club with four members. The group welcomed all past matrons in the territory. Other items include a fire at the Fred Chinn home due to furnace pipe collapse and a baseball meeting at the north side barber shop, plus local birthday observances and traffic collision on Highway 148 near Anita.

Omaha trade excursion itinerary to visit Anita and nearby
In 1924 the Omaha Chamber of Commerce announced a trade excursion route including Anita. The Evangelical Church and parsonage were sold to Catholic ownership for 2500 dollars. An executive board for the new church includes Rev. M. J. O Connor Viota Ernest Burke Leo V. Rongers P. W. Lowenberg and J. T. Monnig. A rain Sunday afternoon benefited local property owners after seeding parkings and lawns.

Local Birthday Surprise At School House
Mrs. Fred County Wide 4 H and Mrs. Jesse Deeming brought pies and angel food cake to the third grade room after school to celebrate Joyce and Wintha’s April birthdays. An Anita Pump Co. contract were awarded for heating and plumbing at a Rose Hill Avenue home and a Wagner and Wagner filling station. WANTED Customers for milk and cream delivery.

Couple Sealed Union After Auto Rescue to Courthouse
Richard StehF of Waterloo and Elda Borchert of Tripoli faced car trouble on the way to Waverly to obtain a marriage license. Highway patrolman Do. French gave aid and drove them to the courthouse where they signed the license at midnight.

Cass County 4 H Club Night Features Awards and Guest Speaker
A Cass County 4 H club night is set for Wednesday April 20 at 8 pm in the Atlantic High School Auditorium. The program offers recognition and entertainment with the Sports Editor as guest speaker.
