Public hearing on Anita street improvements set for April 8
The Anita Town Council schedules a hearing on proposed street plans and contract forms for asphalt surface work covering about 24 580 square yards. Bids are due by 8 00 P M April 8 1958 with a 10 percent bid security and 100 percent performance bond requirement. The project funds may come from town funds or road use tax allocations with up to twenty yearly installments at up to five percent interest.

Bronze Cross Awarded to Sgt Billy R Hyndman in Korea
Five years earlier Sgt Billy R Hyndman earned the Bronze Cross for heroism in Korea as his parents Mr and Mrs Ross Hyndman received official notice. In 1957, Glen C. Harp buckle recommended closing four rural schools Audubon no. 7 Benton no. 7 Grant no. 2 and Lincoln no. 4 for failing to meet legal standards. Jerry Redburn had recently earned a 500 hour bar from the Ground Observation Corps. An election loomed for gas issues as residents were urged to vote. Krasne's advertised Wiceners at 39 cents a pound. Margaret and David Ash co-owned the Anita Tribune.
