A 9 pound 1 ounce boy was born to Mr and Mrs Forrest Wilson at the Atlantic hospital at 8 o clock Monday morning. This is the first boy and has been named James Richard. They have one other child, a girl.

Illness and recovery notes from regional hospitals
Mrs Hans Christensen has returned home from the Atlantic hospital after a major operation two weeks ago. Mrs Glen Porch recently underwent major surgery at the University Hospital in Iowa City and has been moved from Iowa City to Atlantic Hospital. Mrs Rachael Mikholin, formerly of Anita, recovered enough from pneumonia to leave Des Moines Methodist Hospital for her daughter's home.

Funeral services held for Andrew Wiegand longtime Anita resident
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Anita for 91 year old Andrew Wiegand who died Monday morning after months of ill health. Rev M D Summerbell officiated with burial in Anita Evergreen cemetery. Wiegand born in Linna Saxton Wimar Germany on April 28 1852 married Katherine Newstiel December 25 1874 and arrived in Anita five years later becoming a naturalized citizen in 1856. A pioneer businessman and civic leader he was active in I O O F and Masonic fraternities and a longtime member of the Anita Methodist church. Surviving are his wife two daughters one son seven grandchildren and a brother.

Mrs Zola Beebe Dies At Her Home In Lewis
Mrs Zola Beebe of Lewis died Saturday morning after months of illness. Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church in Lewis with Rev A Breeling presiding. Burial followed at Anita Evergreen Cemetery. Zola Vernon Beebe was born December 29 1888 in Anita, daughter of R D and Sarah Vernon. She married A J Beebe of Wiota on June 8 1910, lived in Wiota Council Bluffs before moving to Lewis in 1918. Survived by husband son Vernon of Kamuela Hawaii sister Mrs I F Hayenga of George Ia two brothers E D Vernon of Monticello and H T Vernon of Ardmore Okla.

Lincoln No. 2 PTA adjourned with 35 attendees and a program of recitations and songs. Lunch was served. Miss Bertha Mae Johnson teaches at the school. Plans made for the end of year picnic.
