Moonshine Case Binds Klarick and Allen in Red Oak
Dan Klarick and Lloyd Allen were arrested in Red Oak after authorities found 12 gallons of moonshine in their car while en route from Omaha to Cass County. Klarick claimed no knowledge, but both were charged. Klarick was bound over to the grand jury after a preliminary hearing before Justice Powell.

Paden Found Guilty in Libel Theater Plot Conviction and Sentencing
Dhen, president of the Omaha lodge motion picture machine operators, was found guilty last week of conspiracy in the alleged throwing of obnoxious chemicals at the Liberty theater in Pencil Bluffs. He faces a three year term in the state penitentiary at Fort Madison, with Judge Thomas Whitmore presiding. The court rejected motions for a new trial, set bond at the maximum, and warned against equating labor with criminal acts. The case may reach the state supreme court. In other news, Jens A. Miller and Ethel Pearl Soper of Anita were married at the M E church parsonage with a reception to follow in the city. They will reside in town.
