Congregational Church Members Attend Spring Meeting
Members of the First Congregational Church of Anita attended the Spring Meeting of the Council Bluffs Association at Fontanelle on Tuesday. Delegates included Mrs. P. T. Williams, Mrs. Raymond Lantz, Mrs. Arthur Petersen, Mrs. Alpha Nelson, and Miss Vera B. Hook. Mrs. Williams was elected Assistant Director of the Woman's division for three years. The fall meeting will be in Exira.

Miss Martin Recovers From Hip Injury in Farragut
Amita friends report Miss Addie Martin of Farragut is recovering from a broken hip. She fell at home, went to Omaha for X rays and bone setting, stayed several days, and then had a scratch on her limb that became infected causing pain. Dr. Royal J. Montgomery visited Anita churches and aided the pastoral committee seeking a new pastor for the Anita church.

Cass County farmers will attend a ditch blasting demonstration Monday April 8 at the F H Stuetelberg farm two miles east and half a mile north of Wiota. The session offers first hand details on using explosives to blast ditches, including charge settings, dynamite amounts, cost and effectiveness for drainage projects.

Celebrate 12th Wedding Anniversary for Wayne and
Mr and Mrs Wayne Jewett celebrated their twelfth wedding anniversary Sunday March 8. Saturday evening guests from Harlan joined the couple for a chicken dinner with Mr and Mrs Dewey Robinson Mr and Mrs Kenneth Gipple and Mr and Mrs Paul Brown also attending. Mel White and Mrs John Burka of Harlan were present. White recently discharged from the service was the first soldier to enter Paris when the Americans liberated the city. He was given a Jeep and used it to give rides to everyone at the Anita party. The Jewetts received a gift from the guests.

Eddie Bracken stars with Veronica Lake and Dian Lynn in Paramounts musical Out Of This World to be shown at the Anita Theatre on Sunday April 7. The film spoof of crooners features Bracken with a Bing Crosby like voice cleverly dubbed by sound technicians to delight teenage fans.
