Freight Train Wreck Near Anita Delays None
An extra west bound freight train carrying autos implements tires and other articles wrecked in Anita Iowa between 5 and 6 pm after a punctured tire on a rear trailer. Track and roadbed were damaged eight to nine hundred feet with rails joints snapped and ties burned. No injuries reported and all cars remained upright though damaged. Wrecking crews rebuilt the track by dawn and trains moved on the passing track. Hundreds observed the recovery efforts.

About 300 attended, netting estimated $175 for the two parishes.

Mrs. Hannah Adsit Johnson aged eighty six died September 17 1926 at Atlantic Hospital after a lingering illness. Born December 16 Fort Wayne Indiana she moved to Cass County at age twelve and lived in Atlantic since 1869. She was married June 30 1861 to Henry Clay Johnson who died fourteen years ago. Survived by eight children and six deceased, funeral held at Atlantic M E Church with Rev M A Gable.
