The Great Cass County Fair at Atlantic runs September 14 to 16 featuring racing purses totaling 3,500 with free attractions and music worth 1,900 and exhibitor premiums of 2,000. A fireworks display on September 16 offers 1,000, with a fair carnival and race meet plus music by the Anita, Atlantic and Massena Bands.
The First M E church membership asks for Rev. Robt W Swick to return to Anita for the next conference year. The petition was sent to District Superintendent EE McDade to present to the Bishop and appointing power. Swick’s efforts have been valued and his return would please the church and community.

Miss H A Boyle spends a week with Ed Henderson family in Franklin township. Anita and the community respond quickly to news from surrounding towns. Chas Scholl drilled a fifty foot well on his farm, hitting a vein of water believed enough to supply all needs. Miss Helen Woodruff of Waterloo visits relatives including D D Morgan F O Worthing and J W Beaver families.
W H McIntyre completed a barn for Eli King last week and decided to install a cement floor throughout except in the stalls where McIntyre and his men are still at work.

Miss Cora Barker, guest of Mrs. Nellie Richards, returned to Omaha after weeks in the country. The healthy climate of the Garden of Eden area and Richards home grown seeds contributed to a thirteen pound weight gain Miss Barker proudly credits to her country sojourn.
Clinton Carey, a Bridgewater area farmer, delivered a large armful of corn to the RECORD office last week. He is praised for producing good crop quality with eleven to thirteen inch ears filled with well developed kernels of the silver white variety.
