Charles I Beason Dies in Chicago After Injury
Charles I Beason longtime Anita resident and former head of the Charles I Beason Commission Company died in Chicago the morning of his death. He was injured by a barb wire fencing fall while hunting a week or ten days earlier leading to infection and heart failure. He had planned to visit his sisters and brother in Gulfport Kansas City and Culver City.

Charles I Benson Beason born October 13 1866 in what is now Anita Cass County Iowa died suddenly November 16 1927 in Chicago Illinois aged sixty one years one month and three days. He led the Drovers Commission Company in Chicago and later headed the Charles I Benson Commission Company leaving a wide western patronage. He is survived by daughter Frances age seventeen two sisters Olive Husk and Edith Mathias and brother Lew H Benson. Funeral held in Independence Missouri with burial there.

Anita High School opened the season splitting a set with Cumberland on Cumberland’s floor. The girls lost 11 to 3 while the Anita boys won 24 to 14. Visiting relatives from Mt. Pleasant stop in Anita
J. W. Peterson and wife of Mt. Pleasant Iowa visited Anita with Mrs. Peterson's parents Mr. and Mrs. John C. Jenkins and other relatives. The Petersons persuaded Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins and daughter Arline to visit Mount Pleasant for several weeks. They left Monday by auto. Both Petersons work at the Mount Pleasant state hospital. Union Thanksgiving services of the Anita Christian Methodist and Congregational churches will be held at the Christian church on Wednesday evening November 23 at 7 30.
