Bank Temporarily Closes in Walnut Iowa
The American State Bank of Walnut, formerly the German Savings Bank, shut its doors temporarily by order of the Board of Directors due to slow collections. The 100000 dollar capital bank, once a strong Southwestern Iowa institution, will pursue reorganization while assuring depositors they will not lose any funds. President Otto Ronna, in ill health, is treated in Omaha. WM Spence and John Nichols of Citizens' Savings Bank are employed there.
