A man named Roscoe Moore, employed at a local barber shop, stole goods from O L Thomas grocery. He admitted guilt and was sentenced to five years hard labor at Fort Madison penitentiary, beginning June evening. The case followed an investigation sparked by orange peelings on the walk and led to Moore’s arrest. Moore’s past included steady work and a drink problem.
