Miss Vera B Hook Mrs H E Campbell and Mrs A M Mikkelsen planned a friendly surprise for Mrs W E Fish Tuesday evening. Guests joined for bridge and a luncheon then presented a kitchen shower as a kind birthday remembrance and best wishes for another year.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kopp and Miss Vera Hook visited Atlantic Saturday. A combination sale of farm machinery and related items was held at the G. W. Parker feed barn and drew a large crowd.

Cole Musick and family and Mrs. O'Hara visited Magnolia Iowa to see relatives. Mrs. O'Hara to stay a few weeks. A baby boy was born Friday March 13 to Mr and Mrs Frank Rhoads. The Original Bridge Club hosted husbands at Dr and Mrs G M Adair home Tuesday. John C Kelley, Anita resident and civil war veteran, remains homebound due to illness from old army wounds. Mrs R D Vernon shows slight improvement and good recovery prospects after two weeks home confinement. The estate of the late Sigle Hendricks is settled. son W F Hendricks to operate the Dr H E Campbell farms along Anita south corporate line leased to Hendricks for 1925.
The estate of the late F. H. Sears lists private sale of household furniture carpet rugs and a piano. Interested buyers call at the house one block north of Citizens State Bank building. Also local notes on visits illnesses and small ads from Anita Iowa with several names and minor events.
The Ladies Society of the Christian church will hold a pantry sale all day Saturday March 28 at the Anderson Bell place on Main Street. Miss Ethel Booth of Adair visited Anita at her parents home Mr and Mrs Haney Booth. Mrs W H Wagner hosted the P E Os Tuesday afternoon. Buff Orpington eggs for hatching. James Shaffer of Valley Junction, a former Anita resident, was in the city Sunday. Geo P Jewett is recovering from lagrippe that nearly became flu.
Miss Lois Turner, daughter of Mrs. Edith Turner and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pine, is confined at home after a severe fracture of the small ankle bones from a Sunday fall. An X ray at Dr. Campbell hospital confirms the injury. Mrs. O. D. Aldrich also remains at home with severe burns from boiling water. Dr. Campbell foresees months of recovery. The Anita Literary Club met with Mrs. Phil T. Williams, sharing house cleaning hints and readings on Saint Patrick and March winds, with refreshments served and plans for the next gathering on April 16 at Mrs. Kathryn DeCamp.
