Exline Divorce Case Filed in Potawattemie County

Mrs. Mary Exline filed for divorce from Chas A Exline in district court citing cruel and inhuman treatment. The case is cited for trial at the September term.

Mayor to Move Into New West Main Home

Mayor Homer Kirkham and family will relocate to a new home on West Main street on July 1. The annual Fourth of July Carnival and Baby Show drew a large crowd in Anita Saturday evening. Gipples and Delahoydes visited Caldwell family in Audubon with local ties. Curtis W Benson subscribed to the ReecoRD as the new household editor.

Rev Robt W Swick and family returned from a two week visit in Missouri. Mrs Guy McDermott hosted a gathering east of Anita with a Flag Day theme and a large, varied feed. Guests included Mrs E P Bennett and son Edward, Mrs Sam Marshall and daughter Jessie, Mrs M E Wallace and Miss Marple Clark of Atlantic, and Miss Mabel Spence of Anita.

Canning Demonstrations Set to Begin Next Week

Countywide cold pack canning demonstrations start next week with two meetings daily for two weeks. Ames demonstrator will visit Anita on Thursday July 5 to begin work. Mrs Forshay, Mrs Young, and Mrs Ziegler lead sessions offering conservation tips and food preservation guidance.

Cass County Canning Demonstration Promotes Cold Pack Method

A Cass County campaign began June 25 to demonstrate cold pack canning and other food-saving methods. An Ames agricultural extension demonstrator will conduct about twenty sessions over two weeks, with Anita hosting demonstrations July 5 at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at the high school. Local leaders Miss Jennie Ward and others oversee Anita's events.

Mrs Shelton Visits From Pittsburg For Chautauqua Work

Mrs Chas E Shelton of Pittsburg is visiting her sister Mrs E W Holmes in the city for a few weeks. Her husband Prof Shelton former Simpson College president is working on Chautauqua programs in Iowa and other western states. The note urges everyone to join Red Cross and related efforts and do their share. Get busy.

Bohning Infant Buried as Family Mourns

The infant son of Mr and Mrs William Bohning was buried on June 19. Miss Mary Clark of Atlantic is visiting her sister Mrs G I McDermott this week. Senator John C Voorhees returned from a business trip to southern states with several real estate holdings. F O Worthing visited Atlantic Thursday and heard Judge McHenry speak on Red Cross work. The Judge did not use gloves when addressing Red Cross topics.

Red Cross Fund Drive Organized At Victoria Hotel

A permanent committee led by B D Forshay and Leon Voorhees formalized Red Cross fundraising for Anita, Grant, and Lincoln townships. Six two member sub committees were named to canvass districts with a Monday start and Thursday completion target. Committees began Saturday evening, reporting strong initial progress.

A Self Improved Club committee expands Red Cross auxiliary with sixteen members planned. A Des Moines School of Instruction will train locals for proper supply handling. A 1915 enlistment note and social gatherings detail volunteer work and hospitality for club members and guests.
