Benton Township Picnic Hindered by Rain Delays Events
Benton township schools held a Friday picnic on May 25 with a 10:00 am program featuring singing by nine schools and a flag drill led by Miss Ward. Weather forecasts prompted postponement to the next Friday, then after dinner attendees resumed with a spelling contest and a ball game where Benton township girls beat Benton's team 22 to 15. Miss Agnes Tierney visited the Record office Thursday.
