Mrs Ged Behol planned a pleasant surprise for her daughter Jane as she turned ten. Guests from the daughter's Sunday School class and teacher Mrs H E Campbell attended. The afternoon featured games and amusements followed by a luncheon. Favors were suckers dressed as dolls.
Earl Smith and his wife, recently back from Europe where they taught in American schools, visited his sister and brother-in-law Dr and Mrs H E Campbell. Smith will practice law at a good location in Iowa.
J. D. Peterson visited Atlantic on business Tuesday. Ray Enfield bought a new Chevrolet from O. W. Shaffer & Son. Mrs. Hazel King and Miss Iona King visited Des Moines Saturday. Miss Anna Steffins stayed with Bridgewater friends last week. Dick Bell visited his uncle Dr. Phil Williams and wife. Angelo's Comedians start a week in Anita on Monday August 4. Annaky n returned from a two week visit with her sister Mrs. Ralph Schwab at Exira.
Anita residents recall Clarence W. Bruce and Ada his wife visiting from Tampa with their daughter Luella. Clarence, son of Senator James E. Bruce, and Ada, daughter of the late Chas B. Johnson, grew up in Anita and returned to renew old friendships and memories.
Rev. M. Stahl longtime Anita M. E. church pastor who retired years ago has moved to Lake Worth Florida. He reports regained health and has begun investing and now works in real estate offering information on local climate conditions and investment prospects to friends. Stahl has lived in Lake Worth for the past ten years.
James Morgan returned from Cheyenne Wyoming after a few weeks at the annual round-up. He traveled home with his nephew Herman Lamps of Hastings Nebraska. They plan to visit Chicago and likely stop at Burlington Iowa to see Mr and Mrs Bruce Engle, Morgan's in laws.
J C Livingstone and wife of ewls visited last week as guests of their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Frenk Louden, staying with the family during the stay.
