A giant cross over thirty feet tall burned for nearly two hours southeast of Anita near the old cemetery. Eyewitnesses report heavy fueling, no clear origin, and a rumor‑fuelled Klan connection with possible organized activity in the area. Residents pinged post offices and debated motives as Kluxer rumors spread.

Miss Elizabeth Jordan daughter of Dr. Arthur Jordan a Cass county man will enter the State University at Iowa City after visiting in the city with her uncles and aunts J C Jenkins and wife and L R Galiher and wife before beginning her duties at the university.
Property owners in an unspecified area express hope that the current project will beautify and make parking areas permanent and attractive, even as paving contractors dig up and scatter soil across the site.
Mrs. Addie Henderson Hayward recently spent weeks in Cass county visiting relatives and old friends. She left Tuesday for Denver to see her sister Mrs Grace Francis and will then continue home to Idaho Falls Idaho.
Roy H Eneix his wife and daughter Miss Marjorie of Eagle Grove Iowa are in Anita visiting H C Bangham and family and friends. Roy is on his annual weeklong vacation already spent at lakes and summer resorts in northern Minnesota.

Mayor Campbell opened his court Monday to adjudicate traffic violations reported by Officer Redburn. S. E. Phillips of Atlantic pled guilty and paid 13.85 dollars total after a 10 dollar fine. Paul C. Wade of Extra also paid 13.85 for the same offense. Hayden Lowe of Wiota was fined 18.85 after a pursuit near the Voorhees Estate.
Dr. Arthur Jordan, longtime Helena physician and Cass County native from Benton township, elected President of the Montana State Public Health Association. He is brother to Mesdames Jenkins and Galiher and to Warren Jordan of Benton township, with a notable career in public health.

Val Kreamer and his wife of Long Beach California are visiting relatives in the city with the Pratt families. They will travel to Chicago then Canada before returning home, completing about ten thousand miles of travel.
Miss Virginia Boatright of Russell Ohio, a former Anita public school teacher, is visiting Anita this week at Mrs E E McIntyre's home. She taught in Anita and later in Stuart and Berea Kentucky. She is sister to Geo W Boatright of Stuart Iowa and Homer F E Boatright of Wheatley Arkansas.
Zone Godfrey, thirteen, of New Market, Iowa, mourns the loss of her braids after a miscreant cut through her bedroom window screen and severed both long plaits, a theft of hair that contrasts with women who seek such disfigurement at a shop.
R. B. Shepard, admired in the local insurance trade, will relocate with his family around August to oversee the north half of Nebraska for the Walnut Grove Hog Remedy Company of Anita. The offer they could not refuse with many friends here regret their departure.

Miss Ruby Brockman daughter of Mr and Mrs L L Brockman of Menlo spends the week with her uncle and aunt Arthur Breckman and wife.
Vacancy opening leads Wiota to appoint a postmaster. Examinations were conducted last week in Atlantic with candidates including Joe Cannon Mrs Miler and Frank Nordman.
The Cass County Fair is set for September 3 4 5 6 with the management pledging the best exhibition and entertainment ever seen in Cass County.
Albert W. Dickerson longtime Cass County Bank cashier and prominent citizen died Friday in Oak Park Illinois after a brief illness at seventy. Born in Oska loosa Iowa he was the eldest of eight children and lived in Atlantic before moving to Chicago in the 1890s where he became general agent for Bankers Life. Survived by wife Dollie and daughter Mrs Grace Vaughn of Chicago and a son Tom who died in 1919. Funeral 2:30 PM at Osborn Tomlinson parlors with burial in Atlantic Cemetery.
S. V. Jenkins continues to improve in general health following special treatments.
