The Iowa State Fair announces an eight day Diamond Jubilee program August 21 to 30 with 1420000 dollars in premiums. Highlights include the National Livestock Show with 6000 head, Midwest Machinery show on forty acres, first statewide radio expo, second Midwest aircraft expo, Boys and Girls Club Congress with over 2000 youth entrants, and a statewide educational exposition. Officials promise the event will be the greatest outing of its kind in the Middle West.

Henry Lees learned last week of his daughter’s death in Vermillion South Lakota after a brief illness. Interment followed at Vermillion in a private ceremony.
