Elizabeth Holland Harrison died at 7 30 PM January 16 1929 at her home on West Main street Anita Cass county Iowa age 84 4 from flu leading to pneumonia Her life began in Cadiz Ohio and she taught in Harrison county during the Civil War She married Daniel B Harrison in 1870 and moved to Iowa settling in Anita Their family included three sons John H Harry P and W Vernon and daughter Mattie Seven grandchildren survive Funeral services were held January 19 1929 at 2 30 PM at the West Main Street home conducted by Madge Faulkner and Rev E O Douglass with interment in Evergreen cemetery.

Former Anita Lady Eliza Kohl Dies at 81 in Atlantic
Mrs. Eliza Jane Kohl widow of George Kohl died at 9 45 PM Saturday at Jones hospital Atlantic where she had been since November for a broken hip from a fall. Born July 5 1847 at Mount Vernon Iowa she was 81 years 6 months 16 days old. She married George Kohl October 6 1871 at Mechanicsville and they moved to Cass county in 1885 later settling near Anita and finally Atlantic. Survived by son John Kohl three granddaughters two great granddaughters. Funeral Monday at 2 PM at Roland Peacock Baxter Funeral Home Atlantic with Rev J G Charles Kansas City officiating. interment Atlantic cemetery.

At Payette Idaho a large Farmers Co-Operative Creamery shows 1928 business over three million dollars with sixty thousand dollars in dividends to stockholders. The plant markets four million pounds of butter and a quarter million pounds of poultry along with eggs and turkeys and produced ice cream and condensed buttermilk profits for producers. The operation spans two butter plants and an ice cream plant in Ontario Oregon with three thousand eight hundred fifty five members across Idaho and Oregon. Fire damages Rock Island mail car in Dexter
A Rock Island train no 13 mail and express car caught fire between Earlham and Dexter. The car was detached and moved to the passing track near Mass street. firefighters fought flames for about an hour. The interior and contents including sacks of mail, hosiery, furs, hardware and even two sheep were destroyed or water soaked. losses run into thousands.
