Death of a Little Boy Keith Schaake
Keith Gail Schaake aged six years nine months died at home in Atlantic on Friday January 4 1929 after a brief illness. He was born in Anita March 1 1922. He is survived by parents Charles and Mrs Schaake one sister Evelyn and four brothers Charles Marvel Kenneth and Ronald with one brother Max deceased January 5 1923. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Anita Sunday at 2 PM conducted by Rev Wayne Greene with interment in Evergreen cemetery.

M Bilderback a longtime Iowa editor and publisher died in Sacramento, California under suspicious circumstances with alleged robbery involved. He owned the Cass County Democrat plant in Atlantic years ago and later moved away. His body will be returned to Hampton Iowa for burial beside his wife.

Old Time War Flu Report From Arkansas Towns
Fred Hansen of this city received a letter from his son Ed Hansen who lives near Gentry Arkansas reporting an epidemic of the old war time flu. The disease has caused five deaths in Gentry in one day and fourteen deaths in nearby Bentonville and Fayetteville within twenty four hours.

John E Herron born March 16 1833 in Bartholomew Indiana died January 5 1929 at his daughter Emma Kerrs home Anita South Dakota and Cass County Iowa aged 95 years 9 months 20 days after lingering illness He married Nancy Ann Herron September 14 1854 and had eight children The family moved from Indiana to Missouri Ringgold County Iowa Willisea Cass County where he lived most of his life He joined the Christian church in Ringgold City Town in 1872 and his last words were a prayer He is survived by daughters Emma Kerr and Cynthia Wilbourn and many relatives Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Anita Christian church with Rev Wayne Green officiating burial in Evergreen cemetery.
