The Anita branch of the Council of Defence met at Victoria Hotel with a large crowd forcing a behind closed doors session. A committee was formed to secure larger rooms so future meetings may be public.
Iowa faces a spring wheat target of at least 750000 acres, up from 250000. County gains are urged— northern towns 10000 acres, southern 5000— with farmers advised to plant modest plots to spread risk. Seed stock from the food administration will be sold in carload lots from Minneapolis for seed use, via dairy farm bureaus or legal elevators. Lost red sow sought with liberal reward. Curley Clark signs.
Panny Bruce and her son from Big Sandy Montana visited Laurence Bruce in Omaha and spent Sunday night with Mr and Mrs W J Weston. They will go to Oskaloosa to visit a sister and return later in the week for a short visit before heading home.
