Iowa faces a spring wheat target of at least 750000 acres, up from 250000. The Grant Township Council of Defense of Cass County Iowa and the Jass County publisher urge farmers to seed at least ten percent of cultivated ground in wheat for 1918. They cite national needs of 525 million bushels and claim Cass County could yield about 300000 to 500000 bushels if farmers plant wheat. They offer seed procurement and call for cooperation.
