Death of Dr. M. F. Stults Wise County Physician

Dr. M F Stults longtime Wiota resident and Cass County physician died Friday after a brief illness. Born January 10 1857 in Dallas County he practiced in Guthrie Center then Wiota since 1885. Survived by wife Maggie O Connell two sons R C and Leland S Stults and daughter Mildred Hill Yard of Denver. Funeral held Wiota M E church with I O O F lodge honors, interment at Glendale Cemetery Des Moines.

The Anita P T A hosted an April meeting with a strong Adair delegation. Mrs L J Hofmeister welcomed guests while Miss Mabel Dewey spoke for Adair High School. Messages from Adair leaders and various performances highlighted a spirit of friendship and cooperation.

Two Killed at Stuart Iowa Rail Crossing

M A Gettis aged sixty and his cousin Miss Alice Hobson aged fifty died when east bound Rock Island train No 10 struck the car they were in at a Stuart crossing. The car was demolished and both occupants were killed instantly. Gettis had been auditor of Adair county and Miss Hobson resided in Stuart. The accident follows Gettis funeral in Greenfield. Stuart crossing noted as very dangerous by local residents.

Anita Literary Society Holds History Week Meeting

The Anita Literary Club met at Mrs. H. P. Ziegler's home for a program on the history of Town led by Mrs. Cora Stoodt. Readings included Early Politics of Iowa by Vera B. Hook Scenery of Iowa by Mrs. W. Reed Articles of Iowa and violin by Jane Sewell. A guessing contest followed with refreshments served by the hostess and helpers.

W C T U Meeting Discusses Olstead Law Protections
