Only South Carolina boy hurt in last week’s wreck near Camp Jackson was Private Robert A. Moore of Company A, 321st Infantry. He was from Trio, South Carolina, and reported only slightly injured at home.

Red Cross Drive Surpasses Kingstree Local Goal
Kingstree May 11 a Memorial day celebration doubled as a fund drive for the second Red Cross war fund aimed at 100 million dollars. Local chapter sought 6000 dollars and surpassed it within an hour as pledges from 100 to 25 dollars flowed in led by Dr. L B Boyd. The event featured a parade with schoolchildren band and a large 18 foot American flag raised beside Confederate veterans dinner for veterans and Red Cross workers and speeches by J W Leerand F H Weston and Rev G L Harmon.

Betsy Lane Shepherd To Sing In Andrews Recital
Betsy Lane Shepherd, a prominent American soprano and former New York performer, will give a recital in Andrews on Friday night.
