War Savings Drive Opens in Andrews with $25 000 Pledged
A lively meeting at the Majestic Theatre kickstarted Andrews War Savings Drive. Dr W C Currell of South Carolina University spoke on the war effort as $25 000 in pledges were recorded and the campaign set to end June 28 with local banks aiding stamp purchases.

Montgomery and Blakeley Tie Quiet June 9 1918
On Sunday afternoon June 9 1918 Donald Montgomery and Essie Blakeley wed at Probate Judge Breckinton's home. Reverend G T Harmon performed the ceremony. Montgomery is son of J J Montgomery and a Camp Wadsworth selectman. Blakeley is Belle Blakeley’s oldest daughter. The match surprised friends who had kept it secret.

Georgetown Chamber Pushes Modern Highway Plan
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce held its regular meeting to back a joint effort with Andrews Chamber for a county funded truck to patch and maintain a highway between Georgetown and Andrews. They agreed to seek support from county commissioners and urged farmers to assist with upkeep.
