Medal Honors Depicted Heroism of James D Heriot
Maj. Gen H G Sharpe and Lt Bacon carried a posthumous Medal of Honor to James D Heriot of Providence Providence's U S corps. Heriot was killed in France while singlehandedly attacking a machine gun nest and received the award for extraordinary heroism. He was the brother of Miss Agnes Heriot a faculty member at Andrews School.
