In Andrews several residents travel for business, schooling, and family visits. Notables include W T Rowell Trio, J H White planning a 7500 dollar modern residence, and a Charleston architect. Tobacco seed distribution expands, a warehouse project advances, and local staff note tax work and area travel.
The Andrews street department is grading and filling bad areas to improve the road network. About 1000 shade trees will be planted and a surge of building activity is expected with several new residences planned. The town plans to host events and promote local business through printing services.
Mr A G Trenholm of the Home Telephone Company Georgetown announced plans for a new brick Andrews Exchange on Palm Street opposite J L Wilkes Mercantile Co. The two story building, costing 9000 dollars, will house the exchange on the second floor and The Andrews News on the ground floor. The system will feature a common battery 9000 feet underground cable Delco lighting and a charging system. A McManus has the contract and work starts soon with operation planned by April first.
Farmers show strong interest in government nitrate of soda orders with most local growers applying. The Andrews Federal Farm Loan Association, led by S P Harper and D L Mayd, has opened an office in Kellahan building and already approved over sixty thousand in loans aimed at permanent improvements and cooperative farm progress.

A replacement hotel is planned on the same site, to be modern and surpass local rivals, with A. W. Todd of Charleston drawing the plans.
