Equalization efforts on mercantile property urged by South Carolina Tax Commission
The South Carolina Tax Commission announces plans to specially assess mercantile property stocks of goods lumber plants and automobiles for taxation this year. Delays due to Legislature funding hinder progress but the commission aims to standardize merchants state wide and expects listings of automobile owners and merchandise stocks when information is available. Georgetown Man Dies After Explosion Aboard Ship
Key West Florida April 6 Daniel D Inman of Georgetown South Carolina died last night from injuries suffered in an explosion aboard United States submarine chaser No 205. Three sailors died in the accident and four more were hurt though not seriously.
