Terry Deil 26 of Eunice remains in serious condition in Odessa after being struck by a pickup on the Eunice Highway Friday afternoon while changing a tire. Deil was knocked about 25 feet as he walked around the vehicle driven by Troy Gladden 56 also of Eunice who was jailed for driving while intoxicated. The accident occurred at 4 10 p m about 13 4 miles northwest of Andrews.

Andrews Junior High Band earned first division from three judges O T Ryan Harlan Lampkin and Tom Rhoades in Odessa at W T Barrett Stadium. Twirlers won first division solo and quintette with best all around and nine first divisions overall. Leaders include Andrea Roberson Trina Longshore Lee Ann Haltom Jackie Dodd Carla Vanover and director Bill Shipp.
The Andrews Boys Club schedules a two day boxing meet on December 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. with teams from Hobbs Kermit Pecos Odessa and Lubbock. A Toy Bowl flag football game on December 9 raises toys for the Goodfellows. Admission is a usable toy. broken toys aren’t accepted.
