Andrews Volunteer Firemen quickly responded Friday afternoon as a warehouse behind City Drug caught fire. The origin was waste paper and pasteboard boxes. The blaze did not reach the Drug Store and nearby buildings. Estimated warehouse damage was $3000. Bill Farmer reported insurance coverage.

The State Highway Commission authorized paving two more sections of the Broadway to Big Bend route. Jack Young of Andrews, an versatile all around athlete, placed in three events at the Texas state track meet in Austin despite an injured leg.
