Permian Basin farmers may obtain a refund of the Federal excise tax on gasoline used for farming by filing a claim after June 30 and before October 1, 1956. Forms 2240 are filed with the district IRS director. initial refunds cover the first six months of 1956. Records should be kept to verify the claimed amounts.
