The Bethesda Lutheran Home began in 1904 with five residents labeled feeble minded. It now houses 660 people aged 8 to 80, many with physical handicaps and epilepsy, in 29 living areas under ward parents. Bethesda sits on a 475 acre campus between Milwaukee and Madison with ongoing construction and a 1,500 volunteer corps, led by Rev. Dr. Clarence F. Golisch.

Lightning and rain brightened Andrews town scene
Residents watched Wednesday night as lightning flashed over Andrews and much needed rain fell. Bethesda Home, affiliated with multiple Lutheran synods, relies on charitable gifts for over half its $2.95 million annual budget because fewer than 10 percent of local residents can cover full monthly care costs. Documentaries for congregational and local TV showings will be available in spring 1972, says Rev. Kenneth M. Lindsay, development director who collaborated with an NBC crew.
